The shelter WAS going to euthanize her HOWEVER Leave No Paws Behind stepped in. They could not bear to see her die alone and wondering on a cold shelter floor! She was unmercifully "dumped" in the night box on April 11th 2017 with black tumors on her head and abdomen that are oozing black fluid.
Named Bonnie she was rushed to The Pet Doctors of Sherman Oaks to evaluate her condition. The Pet Doctors of Sherman Oaks upon seeing Bonnie say this is a necrotic tumor that has liquefying and and gone too far to treat Bonnie. Phone conversation with DVM Missy Achenbach of The Pet Doctors of Sherman Oaks today feels that though there is no hope for Bonnie to recover they are going to stay focused on Bonnie and what can done to help her and ease her pain.
Missy Achenbach explains, “We were ready to call you and tell you we need to let Bonnie go now, then she looked up at me, wagged her tail, kissed my hand, and I want you to get her to a foster right now, let her eat whatever she wants, let her have some time in the sun and let her know love".
This is one of the worst cases of Animal Abuse. This did not happen overnight, The Pet Doctors of Sherman Oaks tell, that if the owner would have taken care of this 5 years ago today Bonnie would be ok. She was left untreated for so long Bonnie’s that the cancerous tumor has eaten through her brain and also has cancerous masses on her tummy as well.
Boonie is now safely at her human angel core hospice foster mommy who did not hesitate to step up and offer her a loving home for however long we are blessed with this sweet angel.
